One fine spring day in my high school in Charlottesville, Virginia, Lucile Michie, our English teacher, gave us time just to think. I suddenly became aware of truth, beauty, and goodness as radiant spiritual realities. In grad school I started over again, and began to constructing my own philosophy of living along the lines you find here. For fifteen years I used experiential projects in my classes and saw these concepts come to life as people cooperate in their own transformation. I have written The Golden Rule (Oxford University Press) and now Values and Virtues: A New Philosophy of Living (forthcoming). And I’m exploring new venues for promoting personal discovery in the marvelous realms of meaning and value.
